'A man of great humanity': Tributes paid to aesthetic doctor Antoni Calmon, who has died at 41
The beauty industry is mourning the loss of French aesthetics doctor and skincare entrepreneur Dr Antoni Calmon, who passed away last Thursday at the age of 41.
In a post on Instagram, his clinic announced the news, writing: "We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Antoni Calmon.
"We will remember him as a man of great humanity. Passionate about his work, he practiced with rare talent, guided by his love of beauty in all its forms and by the sincere care and attention he gave to everyone.
"In this time of mourning, the entire clinic team extends its most heartfelt thoughts to his family and loved ones."
Tributes have also been paid by UK communications agency Muse Communications, which leads the UK PR strategy for Calmon’s skincare brand PERS Skincare.
"We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our dear client and friend Dr Antoni Calmon," the agency said in a statement.
"Antoni was not only an exceptional doctor, but one of the most genuinely warm, thoughtful and joyful people to work with. He brought kindness, humour and generosity to every interaction, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
"It has been a privilege for Muse to support him and the vision behind PERS Skincare, which he co-founded alongside his esteemed colleague and dear friend Sophie‑Lisa Prêcheur. A brand born from their shared passion and commitment to excellence, and one that will continue to shine as part of Antoni’s lasting legacy."
Known for his meticulous attention to detail and refined aesthetic approach, Calmon’s path into the field seemed almost predestined. From a young age he had a strong interest in science and medicine, which ultimately led him toward a career in aesthetics.
Unlike many doctors who transition into the field later in their careers, Calmon knew early on that aesthetic medicine was his calling. However, before specialising, he completed the rigorous requirements of the French medical system.
"I had to go through the 11 years of studies, learning about cancer, cardiology, lungs and biology and everything like that, to end up doing cosmetic injections," he recently shared in an interview with TheIndustry.beauty from his London clinic.
In addition to his practice in the UK capital, he also ran a clinic in Paris, treating an international clientele that included some of the world’s most recognisable faces - though he remained famously discreet about the identities of his patients.
His experience in clinic ultimately inspired the launch of PERS Skincare, developed with Sophie-Lisa Prêcheur, so that patients could maintain results at home. Calmon often spoke about how his medical training in France - particularly working within the constraints of the national health insurance system - instilled in him a philosophy of restraint.
Rather than over-treating, he believed in addressing only what was necessary to achieve natural-looking results. This disciplined approach shaped both his aesthetic treatments and his skincare formulations.
Together with Prêcheur, he built the brand around a philosophy of achieving visible results gradually through consistent use of effective but non-irritating products.
Prior to his passing, Calmon had hinted that further product launches and distribution developments were planned for the year ahead. True to his discreet nature, however, he kept details of those plans largely under wraps.
Calmon’s legacy will endure not only through the innovations of PERS Skincare, as the brand will continue, but also through the countless lives he touched with his expertise, kindness and integrity.
