Aesop opens new Cambridge store

Aesop has announced the opening of its latest store at 35 Trinity Street in Cambridge.

The new store offers customers the opportunity to explore and select from the brand's complete range of skincare, haircare and bodycare products, including its Gentle Facial Cleaning Milk and Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash.

Trained consultants will also be available to offer advice about products best suited to individual consumer needs.

The store's design is inspired by its proximity to academic and archival collections, with its shopfront a hue of well-worn leather, like the binding of an antique tome.

Local plant matter is the interior’s primary material, created using pioneering techniques. Oversized shelves are made from English freshwater bulrush, harvested and woven by Rush Matters. The bulrush is hand-cut from long punts on the River Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire, then air-dried and sun-bleached before being braided into furniture at the nearby workshop. Other shelves are formed from hemp, grown just twenty miles from Cambridge and pressed with resin.
