Aēsop taps 1960s futuristic interiors for new Heathrow Terminal Five store

Aēsop has opened a "first-of-its-kind" store at Heathrow Terminal Five, designed as a self-service station that accounts for the compressed space and time of the terminal.

The new store is inspired by futuristic interiors from the 1960s. It features dark green-blue plinths that mimic faceted control boards, while the organisation of products on the wall is said to recall the interfaces and pressure gauges seen in spacecrafts of sci-fi films.

Customers can browse Aēsop's selection of formulations, specifically chosen for the travel-focused space, for as long or as little as they are able to allow.

Each product is described succinctly on orientation boards and housed in its own receptacle, ensuring "meticulous consistency of the display".

Blotting cards are also on hand for customers to explore the brand’s Eau de Parfum offer.

Aēsop joins a number of existing beauty brands and retailers at Heathrow Terminal Five, including Boots, Jo Malone London, MAC Cosmetics and Rituals.

The opening follows a number of new stores for Aēsop. Earlier this year, the brand opened new stores in London's Marylebone and Canary Wharf. As with the Heathrow space, these stores were inspired by the unique history and purpose of their locations.
