Ajmal enters UK market with new store and online launch
Dubai-based fragrance house Ajmal has opened its first UK store at Westfield London, alongside the launch of its UK e-commerce site.
The opening marks the latest stage in the expansion of the third-generation, family-owned fragrance company, bringing its range of traditional and contemporary fragrances to UK consumers.
Founded in 1951 by the late Haji Ajmal Ali, Ajmal began as a family business in India before expanding internationally and establishing its global base in Dubai. The company is now led by the third generation of the Ajmal family and draws on more than 75 years of experience in perfumery.
Ajmal has maintained a particular focus on oud, an ingredient closely associated with Middle Eastern perfumery. The company cultivates agarwood at a plantation of 10 million trees in Assam, in Northeast India, where it also grows ingredients including jasmine sambac, jasmine grandiflorum, tuberose, mimosa, lotus, rose, lavender and chamomile.

The new Westfield London store is designed around fragrance discovery, offering a selection of fine fragrances and concentrated perfume oils.
The physical opening follows the launch of Ajmal's UK e-commerce site and forms part of the company's wider plans for the UK market.
Abdulla Ajmal, CEO of Ajmal, said: "It is an honour to be opening Ajmal's first European store in the London, 75 years after my grandfather discovered agarwood trees in his back garden and set out to build a successful life for himself within the fragrance business.
"The UK represents an important market for Ajmal, and we are delighted to introduce our fine fragrances and perfume oil blends, steeped in a family story of passion and innovation to this sophisticated perfume market."
For the UK launch, Ajmal has introduced an exclusive collection featuring four fragrances: Ode Tubéreuse, Oud Plaisir, Oud Sucré and Amber Wood.
