Anna Teal steps down as CEO of Aromatherapy Associates after 'tremendous transformation'

Anna Teal, CEO of luxury wellness brand Aromatherapy Associates, will step down from her role, effective 27 January 2023.

Aromatherapy Associates is owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance, which explored a sale of the business in 2021. The business was instead integrated into its No7 Beauty Company, the beauty business unit within the group.

Teal has over 25 years in the beauty industry, previously holding the position of VP and Global Business Development Director of Global Brands at No 7 Beauty.

After a four-year stint at the Aromatherapy Associates, Teal is succeeded by Mark Winter, the previous Managing Director of No7. Greg Davis, who joined the company back in September 2022, will act as Interim Managing and Sales Director for the business.

Teal told TheIndustry.beauty: "Following four incredible years leading what I say is the original and still the best essential oil-based wellness brand, it’s time for me to give the great honour of leading this business to someone new as it heads into its next growth chapter.

"We’ve had 4 years of tremendous transformation through some incredibly difficult times for the industry but still managed to transform our spa and education offer, created award-winning product innovations, and laid down high triple-digit growth in our digital channels. I’ve also had the privilege to build an exceptionally talented team.

"The brand is in great shape for the future with our biggest ever launch for the brand coming soon."
