ASOS has strengthened its Board of Directors with the appointment of Natasja Laheij and Jose Manuel Martinéz Gutiérrez as Independent Non-Executive Directors.

Effective from 11 April 2023, Laheij has been named Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Remuneration committee, whilst Martinéz Gutiérrez will serve on the Audit Committee.

Laheij is currently Senior Finance Director for Google EMEA, Chair of Google Payments and Audit Chair of Vandemoortele. Prior to this, she held various roles at Deloitte Australia, Sony Ericsson and Apple, as well as CFO at Amazon Fashion Europe.

Martinéz Gutiérrez has over 30 years of experience in the retail and fashion industry. He previously held the position of Director of Distribution and Operations at Inditex, taking responsibility for the global product distribution model of the group. Since 2018, he has served as CEO and Executive Director of Spanish fashion brand Bimba y Lola.

The news coincides with the departure of Patrick Kennedy, who has stepped down from the board to "focus on other business activities". Mai Fyfield, who joined ASOS in November 2019, succeeds Kennedy as Senior Independent Director.

Jørgen Lindemann, Chairman of ASOS, said: "I am delighted to welcome Natasja and Jose Manuel to ASOS, whose addition will further broaden and deepen the expertise on the board.

"Natasja brings a wealth of highly relevant commercial and financial experience gained across several leading tech and growth businesses, including as CFO of Amazon Fashion Europe. Jose Manuel joins with extensive fashion and supply chain expertise. The board will greatly benefit from Natasja and Jose's insight and oversight, and we look forward to working closely with them."
