B Corp has opened its first ever UK store in London, aiming to provide a dedicated space for its B Corp community.

Certified B Corporations are companies meeting verified high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

Coinciding with B Corp month this March, the pop-up space will be open throughout March for consumers to learn how to make more conscious purchases and raise awareness about the brands benefitting people and the planet.

Located on Rathbone Place off London’s Oxford Street, the Good News pop-up showcases over 100 brands. This includes beauty brands such as Jaya Beauty Ltd, Beauty Kitchen, Little Soap Company and The Body Shop. However, no product will be sold to maintain B Corp's focus on purpose over profit.

The pop-up will feature a free-of charge vending machine from Healthy Nibbles, which uses social media as a currency, coffee from Origin and a good-cause lottery that has social impact and community-driven prizes. B Corp will also host a series of events at the space.

The project is being led by B Corps COOK, Danone, Bruichladdich Distillery, Vita Coco and freuds. Built using up-cycled materials, all products and any waste will be donated to The Felix Project, where it will be distributed to local community projects and those in need.

Chris Turner, B Lab UK Executive Director, said: “After two years in the virtual world, to see this brought to life in the real world is particularly exciting. This project is doing a fantastic job of bringing our B Corp community together and showing both its stretch and its strength. And we're confident it will drive some great awareness with a wider audience too.
