Beauty tech soars 400% on TikTok Shop amid red light therapy boom

Red light therapy masks are seeing significant growth on TikTok Shop, with the platform reporting a 400% increase in sales within its ‘Facial Beauty Device’ category.

The surge reflects broader momentum around at-home beauty technology, as more UK consumers explore device-led skincare solutions alongside topical products.

Red light therapy masks, which use LED light wavelengths designed to target concerns such as fine lines, acne and uneven texture, have become particularly visible through creator demonstrations, reviews and LIVE Shopping sessions.

TikTok Shop data indicates that approximately 26% of red light therapy mask purchases take place via LIVE Shopping, where sellers and creators provide real-time explanations of product features and usage.

Among the devices frequently highlighted on the platform are the Shark CryoGlow LED Face Mask and the StylPro Wavelength LED Mask.

The growth in this category aligns with a wider shift toward concern-led shopping behaviour, with users increasingly searching for solutions to specific skin issues rather than browsing by brand.

As interest in skin-focused routines continues to rise, at-home LED devices appear to be playing a growing role in the UK’s evolving beauty market.

Emily Caine, Head of Beauty at TikTok Shop UK, said: "What is different about TikTok is that users don't necessarily know what beauty products or brands they want to buy just yet. They come to discover, be inspired and learn from brands and creators to help them find the routines and right products for a specific skin concern, and TikTok Shop is the perfect place for that."

Alongside devices, TikTok Shop highlights the beauty ingredients and trends gaining traction in 2026. Ingredients such as PDRN serums, peptides, barrier-supporting formulations, and K-Beauty products are seeing rising interest, further reflecting the continued focus on skin health and concern-led routines.
