Boots CMO Pete Markey steps down
Pete Markey, Chief Marketing Officer at Boots, has announced his departure after four and a half years in the role.
Markey first joined Boots in February 2021, tasked with driving the strategic direction and overall performance of the retailer's marketing activities across its physical and digital touchpoints.
Prior to this, he served as Chief Marketing Officer at TSB Bank, first joining the company as Marketing Director in 2017.
He has also held senior brand, communications and marketing roles at Aviva, Post Office, RSA, The AA, and British Gas.
In a post LinkedIn, Markey said: "Boots is an incredible business and it’s been an honour to work on such an amazing brand and with such a talented group of people over the past 4.5 years.
"I’m excited about the next chapter in my career and wish everyone in the Boots UK and Irish business continued success."
A Boots spokesperson told TheIndustry.beauty: "Pete Markey has stepped down from his role after four and a half years leading our marketing function.
"Pete has made a significant contribution during his time with us, leading our marketing transformation and delivering many creative campaigns alongside our talented marketing team. We would like to thank him for his support and wish him well for the future."
The news comes as the retail giant today announces the extension of its instant delivery service in London, now offering health and beauty essentials right through to midnight.
The trial, currently running in ten of its busiest central London stores, represents a significant step in meeting evolving consumer demands for convenience and immediate access to products.
