Boots is bringing this nostalgic hair tool brand to a high street near you
High street beauty haven Boots has teamed up with GHD to bring the brand’s cult-favourite hair tools, including its sell-out straighteners, to beauty lovers across the UK.
GHD was founded in 2001 after Martin Penny, Gary Douglas, Susan Powls and Robert Powls collaborated to buy the rights to a hair straightening iron from an inventor in South Korea. Soon after, in the early 2000s, it was arguably no longer socially acceptable to leave the house without pin-straight hair courtesy of GHD and juicy lips courtesy of Lancome's Juicy Tubes.
Fast forward two decades later, the hair tool brand took its expertise and created intelligent algorithms to maintain a consistent temperature of 185 degrees, ensuring optimum power with minimal damage across its range.
As it pursues high street beauty domination, Boots is adding a total of 34 products from the GHD collection to its offering online and in selected stores, from the brand-new Chronos Max hair straightener to its Final Shine Spray.
11 Boots stores will also offer GHD trial and demonstration stations where brand ambassadors will provide personalised advice and styling services. These stores are: Dartford Bluewater Park, Nottingham Victoria Centre, West Thurrock Lakeside Shopping Centre, London White City, Glasgow Fort, London Covent Garden, Manchester Market Street, Liverpool Clayton Square, Bristol Cribbs Causeway, Milton Keynes Crown Walk and Battersea Power Station.
Liz Hewitt, Director of Category for Gift, Electrical Beauty, Photo & Brand Partners at Boots, said: "GHD continues to revolutionise the world of hair styling, whether it’s achieving beachy waves, sleek straight looks or natural curls, GHD’s tools can create long-lasting, salon-quality results at home. We are thrilled to bring one of the biggest hair brands in the world into our stores and expand our ever-growing premium and professional haircare offering."
GHD is the latest brand to join Boots beauty line-up, following the launch of over 45 new brands in 2024. At Boots, haircare enthusiasts can shop a growing range of premium and professional haircare from brands including Kérastase, Matrix, Redken, OUAI and Wella Professionals.
