Boots own-brand becomes biggest Leaping Bunny approved beauty range in UK
Boots now offers the biggest range of Leaping Bunny approved own-brand beauty products on the UK high street.
The Leaping Bunny programme is the globally recognised standard for assessing cruelty-free cosmetics and personal care products, set out by British group Cruelty Free International.
Over 500 of the retailer's own-brand products across cosmetics, skincare, personal care and grooming are now Leaping Bunny-approved, in what the retailer describes as a "big hop in the right direction for affordable and accessible cruelty-free beauty".
The achievement sees own-brand labels such as Soltan, Natural Collection, Tea Tree and Witch Hazel, Boots Ingredients and Boots Vitamin C join previously accredited brands, including 17, Botanics, Soap & Glory and Liz Earle Beauty Co.
While Boots stopped conducting or commissioning animal testing on its own-brand products in 1975 – 23 years ahead of the UK Government’s policy ban on cosmetics animal testing - the news comes as the company continues to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to operating as a socially responsible business.
Last week, the retailer celebrated the return of Natural Collection with a fresh new look and upgraded product formulations.
The own-brand collection relaunched with a renewed commitment to making beauty "simple, sustainable and affordable". It is also Leaping Bunny approved.
From skin-enhancing complexion products to sheer lip balms and glosses and low-maintenance eye shadows and mascaras, the new range boasts over 100 new items, all priced at £5 and under.
It will also be launching a range of bathing products later this month, including refillable body washes and a soap block.
