Bouclème launches new refill service ahead of Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day this month, Bouclème has partnered with On Repeat to launch a new sustainable refill service.

Founded by Michele Scott-Lynch in 2014, Bouclème specialises in plant-powered haircare designed for the curly hair community. Earlier this year, the business launched into the bodycare category with two new products.

Available from 22 April 2023, the new refill service will allow customers to order products as a 100% compostable refill, helping to reduce the brand's carbon footprint and packaging imprint on the planet. Each refill is priced the same as a new product.

To launch the service, Bouclème has worked with compostable packaging and fulfilment service On Repeat. The refill features a compostable mixed bio-based pouch, which will be shipped in a cardboard outer wallet made from FSC certified kraft board. In addition, all print used is made from vegetable inks.

As the refill is 100% plastic free and compostable, the pouch packaging can be placed in garden waste collection or home compost to break down and become a part of the circular economy.

Michele Scott- Lynch, Founder of Bouclème, said: "We want to save and protect the planet for generations to come. When I founded Bouclème, it was important to me to make sure we weren’t adding excess waste to an already overburdened world.

"For me, sustainability is not a trend but a movement and I am proud that Bouclème is part of that movement with On Repeat. Small steps really make a big difference."
