In celebration of its 80th anniversary, Italian luxury brand Brioni has once again partnered with French glassmaker Lalique to launch 18 signed crystal flacons.

A collaboration four years in the making, the limited-edition collector’s piece is described as "a testament to craftsmanship and the revival of lost arts".

Conceptualised by Brioni Design Director Norbert Stumpfl and Lalique Artistic and Creative Director Marc Larminaux, the crystal flacon takes the shape of an octagonal prism, in homage to Brioni’s 80-year legacy.

The flacon’s intricate internal formation refracts light like a glacier’s crystalline facets, radiating a "mesmerising glow" accentuated by the silver-hued fragrance within.

Crafted using an ancient lost-wax technique, known as cire-perdue, revived by Lalique’s master glassmakers, each flacon is a singular work of art - and priced at £33,500.

"The individual, rare elements that have come together in a perfect storm to create Dualité, Crystal Edition Perfume have captured the beauty of the sublime," said Stumpfl.

"This collaboration between Brioni and Lalique has become one of shared passion, representing everything we stand for: a dedication to time, the selection of precious raw materials, exquisite artisanry and the difference that human touch makes. It is more than just a design, it is a celebration of absolute luxury taking the very best of craft."

The fragrance

Composed by Master Perfumer Michel Almairac, the Extrait de Parfum explores the theme of duality - "where elemental forces collide in perfect harmony".

The scent begins with a journey of an abstract ozonic accord, like an ethereal breath of fresh, invigorating air. This is heightened by the bright, crisp bite of green apple, attempting to bring both a vibrant energy and a tangible, refreshing clarity, akin to light refracted through a glacier.

As the scent unfolds, a more delicate heart reveals the powdery sweetness of violet blended with the modern sophistication of Ambroxan, adding a velvety, warm texture. Nestled within, iris butter - crafted through a seven-year process - then exudes a rich, earthy elegance.

The aromatic presence of cedarwood also combines with moss for a natural, tranquil touch. Meanwhile, dry amber concludes the composition with warmth, its resinous glow offering "a modern finish that lingers", much like the reflections cast by the flacon’s crystal facets.

"I crafted this perfume with a violet accord, using exceptional overdoses of Ambroxan, modern woody notes, and rare iris butter. This creation embodies urban elegance and modernity, offering a unique and unforgettable olfactory signature," said Almairac.
