British beauty brands, including a number of lesser-known players, are anticipating a visibility and sales boost following the launch of new online boutique shopping concept, A Beautiful Life (ABL).

Founded by beauty expert Lydia Roscoe, ABL has been designed to showcase home-grown talent via innovative creative content and educational videos.

The site features a curated edit of products from British "hero" brands across the skincare, body, makeup and lifestyle sectors, including Jane Scrivner, Slow Ageing, Bee Good, Nakin, Modern Botany and Altr London.

With 75% of consumers saying they planned to support local enterprise once restrictions on non-essential businesses were lifted, the site's launch was perfectly timed to tap into growing demand for British brands, Roscoe said.

“A Beautiful Life is a one-of-a-kind shopping experience where we hope to champion the most exciting British brands.

“By shopping ‘locally’ we plan to support our community of British beauty and wellness brands enabling their businesses to grow and thrive, as well as encouraging more local entrepreneurial spirit within the beauty industry,” she added.

Also hailing the launch, beauty industry consultant and Modern Botany co-founder, Tracey Woodward said: “It’s an absolute Joy to see a digital retailer harness the best of British Beauty.

“We have so many beautiful brands that need a platform that is going to honour and celebrate their efforts and Lydia and her team have exceptional knowledge and believe in the power of selfcare through beauty.

“It’s great to have a go-to partner for all the tremendous partners I work with, but also all the brands I mentor!”
