The British Beauty Council has appointed former UK Spa Association general manager Helena Grzesk as chief operating officer.

Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in the beauty, spa and hospitality industry, Grzesk will work alongside British Beauty Council chief executive officer Millie Kendall MBE, to “activate a robust calendar of activities that support and strengthen the council’s Road Map for 2021.”

Her diverse range of long-term successes and accolades includes the development of the 22 times multi-award winning The Spa at The Midland in Manchester, while her recent lobbying efforts at the UK Spa Association are credited with helping the industry to secure its recent recognition and reopening priority.

“I’m absolutely thrilled and incredibly excited to be joining the British Beauty Council as COO,” Grzesk said.

“Having worked closely with Millie as part of the Business Energy and Industrial Strategy Department’s Personal Care Taskforce over the past few months I’ve been inspired by the work of the organisation and the Road Map for 2021.

“I believe that we can inspire change and successfully steer the future trajectory, reputation and recognition of the sector, there’s a positive outlook for the future of beauty,” she added.
