British Beauty Council expands expertise with new appointments

The British Beauty Council has announced the appointment of two prominent industry leaders to its Board of Directors, as well as eight new additions to its Advisory Board.

Sue Fox, former President of Estée Lauder UK & Ireland, and Sarah Boyd, Managing Director of Sephora UK, have joined the organisation's Board of Directors.

Their combined and extensive experience of the beauty industry and business will play an "integral" role in the formation of its strategies and activity throughout their tenure.

It comes amid a series of other appointments to the company's Advisory Board. With expertise spanning beauty technology, entrepreneurship, retail, services, and communications, the new members will help advance its strategic roadmap. These include:

• Tendai Moyo, co-founder and CEO of Ruka Hair.
• Laurence Newman, CEO and founder of The Beauty Tech Group (CurrentBody Skin, ZIIIP, Tria).
• Margaret Dabbs OBE, CEO and founder of Margaret Dabbs London.
• Krishna Montgomery, founder of Monty PR.
• Rhea Cartwright, beauty brand consultant and columnist, Who What Wear.
• Harriet Westmoreland, celebrity nail artist.
• Amir Afshar and Insiya Jafferjee, co-founders of Shellworks.

The new appointments, together with the existing 70-member Advisory Board, will provide strategic insights to help drive cross-industry campaigns, influence policy, and raise awareness.

Their collective expertise aims to support the success of initiatives across four strategic pillars: Policy & Influence; Trade & Export; Investment, Innovation & Technology; and Talent & Careers. In doing so, they will also contribute to the council’s overarching goal of "raising the reputation of the sector".
