The British Beauty Council is calling on beauty businesses to join it in celebrating the "power of beauty” for its annual British Beauty Week this autumn.

Set to take place between 5 and 11 September 2022, the event invites brands, retailers, salons, charities and e-commerce platforms of all sizes to "create engaging initiatives and demonstrate to the public, business leaders and policymakers the power of beauty".

All successful applicants will be given access to British Beauty Week assets, will be listed on the British Beauty Week website and promoted via social media.

Interested businesses can visit here or email bbw@britishbeautycouncil.com to download an application form and participate for free.

Since its inception three years ago, the British Beauty Council has aimed to champion the beauty industry, providing guidance and support to hundreds of thousands of workers, which includes winning an extra £500m of government-backed support during the pandemic.

In 2022, one of the Council’s key focuses will be using its positive influence to affect change and cultivate industry investment.

British Beauty Week will be one of the series of positive-impact activations the Council will be supporting this year to spotlight the value and power of beauty at a government level.

Millie Kendall, CEO of the British Beauty Council, said: "The beauty industry has the ability to change lives and transform Britain’s economic and social fabric. We want everyone to celebrate that fact. Whether it's workshops, giveaways, offers and talks, all week or day events – we want the British Beauty Week logo to be seen in windows and on websites across the breadth and depth of the UK to galvanise both the industry and shoppers alike.

"Many people have in the past underestimated the power of beauty. But if the pandemic has taught us anything, it is that our industry is at the heart of every community. It brings people together, it boosts confidence and wellbeing, and it provides an enormous contribution to the UK’s GDP. This is all something to celebrate.”
