Brows that give back: Benefit's Bold is Beautiful turns 10
Benefit’s Bold is Beautiful Campaign, which raises funds for female-centric charities, is celebrating its 10th year. This May, the brand is donating £5 from every brow wax to Refuge, Look Good Feel Better and Daisyhouse.
Launched in 2015, the Bold is Beautiful campaign is Benefit's philanthropic initiative. It has since become a cornerstone of the brand’s mission to empower women and girls, raising nearly £2 million in the UK and Ireland alone and contributing to a global total of $26.6 million (£20 million).
Sarah Harbon, General Manager, Benefit Cosmetics UK & Ireland, said: "Through our Bold is Beautiful philanthropy programme, your wax makes a tangible difference, and I'm incredibly proud of the real impact we're having on the lives of so many women and children.
"It's truly inspiring to see how our fundraising and awareness efforts are creating positive change. We must continue spreading the word and inviting others to join us in this important work."
Gemma Sherrington, CEO of Refuge, added: "We are incredibly proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Bold is Beautiful with Benefit, one of Refuge’s longest-standing and most dedicated corporate partners.
"Over the past decade, Benefit’s unwavering support has raised over £1 million for Refuge, funding vital, life-saving services for women and children escaping domestic abuse. From their iconic Mascarathon to the powerful Brow March and Bold is Beautiful campaign, the passion and creativity of the Benefit team – especially their phenomenal employee fundraising – continues to inspire us. This partnership is proof of what’s possible when a brand truly commits to driving change. We are so grateful to stand beside Benefit as we mark this milestone year together."
This year, customers who book a brow wax at participating retailers - including Boots, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Sephora, and Selfridges & Co. - will not only contribute £5 to charity, but also receive a free eye mask and complimentary lip and chin waxes, while supplies last.
Ian Daniels, Director Fundraising & Communications at Look Good Feel Better, commented: "Since 2015, Benefit has raised over £1 million for the charity, helping us provide empowering workshops to thousands of people living with cancer across the UK.
"In the UK, someone receives a cancer diagnosis every 90 seconds, and with the number of people living with cancer set to increase to 5 million by 2030, Benefit’s support is now more vital than ever. Our range of services, focused on Skincare and Make-up, Styling for Confidence, Headwrappers, Services for Men, and Young Adult Workshops, can only exist through the funds raised from our fantastic supporters like Benefit. We are extremely proud of our long-standing partnership with Benefit and look forward to ensuring this year’s 'Bold is Beautiful' campaign is a huge success."
