Celine is the latest luxury brand to branch into beauty

LVMH-owned Celine has today teased the launch of its debut cosmetics line. Thanks to LVMH's already impressive portfolio of cosmetics companies and expertise in beauty, this new line is on track to be a sure-fire success story.

Creative Director, Hedi Slimane, first dabbled with the idea of Celine Beauté in 2023. This was birthed off the back of the French house’s haute parfumerie collection, which launched in 2019.

The brand revealed the launch by posting the "LA COLLECTION DE L’ARC DE TRIOMPHE" film to Instagram to mark "the first cosmetics line in the house’s history".

In the video, Celine models can be seen Sporting La Peau Nue – a natural rose-hued lipstick. This is one of the 15 shades of Le Rouge Celine, which will be available to the public for purchase in 2025.

However, if Celine’s cult following can’t wait until next year, the brand is launching its first product, a satin lipstick in the shade Rouge Triomph, this autumn.

Although lipstick is the focal point of the collection, it will debut new beauty collections including lip balms, mascaras, eye pencils, loose powders and blush each season.

Celine isn't the first luxury fashion brand to expand into the world of colour cosmetics. In fact, it may be one of the last. Kering's Dolce & Gabbana took its beauty brand in-house last year and, if Victoria Beckham has taught us anything, it's that beauty is bringing in the big bucks. So, what makes Celine beauty line different? As part of  LVMH's portfolio, which also boasts Dior Beauty and Fenty Beauty, the brand will have in-house expertise at its fingertips.
