Chanel appoints Emilie de Tramasure GM of Fragrance and Beauty
Chanel has named Emilie de Tramasure as General Manager of fragrance and beauty, a role she will step into on 9 September 2024.
She succeeds Barbara Menarguez, who is set to retire on 26 April after 26 years at Chanel. In the interim, the department will be helmed by Molli Megasko, who is currently the Head of Digital in the US, according to WWD.
De Tramasure, similarly to Menarguez, began her career at Chanel in 1998. Upon arrival, she stepped into the role of Fragrance & Beauty Brand Manager in Mexico City - making her new role a full-circle moment. After this, De Tramasure spent eight years in Paris in various roles overseeing the development and launch of products within fragrance and skincare.
She then moved to Singapore as the regional Head of Marketing for watches and fine jewellery in the Asia Pacific region. But her travels didn’t stop there. Next stop? Belgium, where she took on a corporate role as Brand Education Director.
In the spirit of evolving, she later relocated back to Paris as International Head of Marketing for fragrances and beauty.
Most recently, for the past six years, de Tramasure has been situated in the US. There she worked as the General Manager of watches and fine jewelry. "I've successfully doubled the division's size and profit since 2019", said de Tramasure.
Chanel said that an internal and external search will be conducted for a new General Manager of watches and fine jewellery.
