Chanel's luxury advent calendar goes viral with TikTok users outraged

A luxury advent calendar by Chanel has gone viral on TikTok, with customers sharing their outrage at its contents.

In a video on TikTok, Influencer Elise Harmon posted a video of herself opening the £610 calendar, sharing her disappointment about some of the calendar's contents.

Described by Chanel on its website, the advent calendar has 27 boxes numbered from five to 31 and includes either a full-sized fragrance or makeup product, a miniature or another surprise marked with Gabrielle Chanel's lucky number.

While crediting Chanel for its "10/10 packaging", Harmon began to open a box she described to look "really promising". Her positivity was short lived, as she expressed her disappointment in receiving a packet of stickers inside.

As the video continues, she opens up another day of the calendar and is fairly satisfied when she receives a small bottle of Chanel hand cream.

Harmon then captioned the video saying "Worth the hype? Probably not but it's pretty."

The video quickly went viral and now has over 14.6 million views and 1.9 million likes.

TikTok users also shared their outrage at the calendar in the comments, with one person commenting "Chanel...what is this?" and another writing "The audacity of the stickers".

Since this first video, Harmon has created additional unboxing videos of the calendar to share more of the contents with her followers. Other TikTok users have joined in and created their own Chanel advent calendar opening videos and reviews too.
