Charlotte Tilbury turns Covent Garden into Café Airbrush celebrating complexion launch

Charlotte Tilbury has never been one for a low-key product reveal. For her latest complexion innovations, the beauty mogul has swapped the usual counter launch for something more theatrical: an immersive Café Airbrush pop-up in Covent Garden, serving up lattes, photo ops and, most importantly, the future of full coverage.

The activation, running 28-30 August, coincides with the unveiling of two new additions to the brand’s Airbrush franchise: the Airbrush Flawless Foundation and the Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray Matte. Both promise the signature “airbrushed” finish Tilbury has made famous, but with lighter textures, longer wear and skincare-level benefits.

Inside the pop-up, dubbed 'Café Airbrush', visitors are shade-matched by Charlotte’s Airbrush Angels and walk away with free deluxe samples of the foundation. A playful Light-As-Air game offers prizes ranging from deluxe samples to limited-edition merchandise, while every guest leaves with a branded ‘flawless fan’. Themed drinks, Light-As-Air Lattes and Peach Iced Teas, cement the café concept, alongside a dedicated Instagram moment: Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Wings (reminiscent of those of Victoria's Secret angels).

The original Airbrush Flawless Foundation first launched in 2015. So what's new? This reimagined version has been reformulated with Powder Blur Airtech for a dimensional matte effect that avoids the dreaded 'flat' look of many full-coverage bases. Clinical trials back up the claims, with 9 in 10 testers saying they would switch to the new formula.

Meanwhile, the new Setting Spray Matte extends the Airbrush franchise beyond powder into longwear fixing, delivering up to 16 hours of waterproof, shine-controlling hold.

Tilbury said: "Darlings, to celebrate the launch of two new innovations I am so excited to invite you all to the ultimate beauty pop-up. I have created an immersive experience, where you can find your flawless shade match, play games for the chance to win exclusive prizes and enjoy a Light-as-Air Latte with your friends."

The Covent Garden takeover also reflects a wider industry trend: beauty brands leaning into experiential retail, especially in the beauty hub. Read more here: 'How Covent Garden is becoming London's beauty capital'.
