Clarins champions transparency with new platform

Clarins has launched a new platform to champion consumer transparency and strengthen its commitment to sustainability.

The new T.R.U.S.T. platform uses blockchain technology to share full traceability of the ingredients that go into the company's product formulas and manufacturing processes.

The platform stores and transmits information to form a database that records secured exchanges between different users, such as suppliers and producers. Once a piece of information is entered into the system, the technology certifies their authenticity, without allowing anything to be modified.

By entering a product batch code on the T.R.U.S.T. platform, users can now access the manufacturing process and discover the origins of a product's plant ingredients. It also provides visuals and testimonies from the company's factory, laboratories and overall facilities in Pontoise, France.

Clarins has described the platform as an "ongoing initiative" and whilst not all products and ingredients are available yet, the list is heading for total transparency. 30 products and 40 plant extracts can now be found on the T.R.U.S.T. platform, with almost 100 to be added by the end of 2023.
