Cloud Nine is the first styling brand to earn MTick certification in recognition of its menopause-friendly straighteners that can support hair fragility, one of the 48 recognised signs of menopause.

The brand's straighteners are now certified with the MTick – the world’s first symbol to signpost menopause-friendly products - accredited by UK-based collective GenM.

Established in 2021, GenM unites menopause-friendly brands and retailers to create a global marketplace of credibility and trust for women experiencing menopause.

Cloud Nine

Having become a prominent hair electrical brand since its launch in 2015, Cloud Nine is currently stocked in over 500 retailers as well as premium hair salons across the globe.

The Yorkshire-based brand's styling tools align with the MTick criteria through their advanced technology designed to support menopause-related hair concerns, including dryness, increased fragility, and changes in hair texture.

Its styling tools feature variable temperature control, mineral-infused plates, and Revive Mode technology that minimise heat damage, making them uniquely suited to alleviate increased hair fragility and protect hair health.

Marie Nieuwouldt, Global Group Education Manager at Cloud Nine, said: "We are proud to join the GenM movement, recognising the importance of supporting women at every stage of their life, including menopause."

The new partnership aligns with GenM’s mission to drive greater awareness, support, and visibility for those experiencing menopause. It comes as only 2% of women in menopause are thriving and only 5% feel confident.

Heather Jackson, founder and CEO of GenM, said: "We are so excited that Cloud Nine is joining the GenM Collective of over 120 brands and retailers committed to understanding, supporting and serving those in menopause better.

"As the first styling tool brand to be MTick-certified, Cloud Nine is proudly committed to improving support for women navigating menopause-related hair concerns. Through Cloud Nine's technologically advanced MTick-certified range of hair tools, it is empowering women to search, source and shop for menopause-friendly products with confidence."

It comes as women experiencing perimenopause and menopause are spending an average £1,800 a year on products such as vitamins, skincare and electricals to address symptoms such as fatigue and hot flushes.

New data also suggests that 25% are turning to sleep aids, including aromatherapy, weighted blankets and sleep trackers, to alleviate symptoms of the menopause.
