Commune enters home fragrance with first candle collection

Commune, a sustainable self-care brand with a commitment to natural ingredients and ancient herb-lore, has expanded into home fragrance with a new collection of candles.

The new candle range features six fragrances divided across three families: Vetiveria, Osmanthus and Nymphaea.

Each fragrance is available in two scent profiles:

• Lux, from the Latin for 'light', features a brighter floral scent intended for daytime.
• Nox, from the Latin for 'night', is characterised by a deeper, more woodsy expression for evening.

Incorporating a range of sustainably sourced top and base notes, such as lemon, jasmine, cypress, elemi, myrrh, and honey, the new collection promises a "distinct yet complementary offering to form and enhance daily rituals".

Each candle is also poured with a 100% natural blend of soy and beeswax to ensure a clean, long-lasting burn and infused with a combination of natural essential oils and aroma oils to "enhance and amplify the fragrance".

The packaging is crafted from sleek aluminium that’s both structurally substantial and infinitely recyclable, complemented by an intricate white onyx cover for Lux scents and a black Marquina marble cover for Nox scents.

The design is consistent with the brand’s hand and body care range, as well as future products of the same diameter.

Kate Neal, co-founder of Commune, told TheIndustry.beauty: "Stepping into the home fragrance space was a natural evolution for us, enabling us to continue leading through design while staying true to our principles by using infinitely recyclable aluminium for our vessels and avoiding harsh chemicals like paraffin wax.

"Our collection of six candles is meticulously crafted with a blend of soy and beeswax for a clean, long-lasting burn, enhanced with multi-layered, carefully curated fragrances."

Nox

• Top notes: Elemi and black pepper.
• Heart notes: Vetivert, laurel and coriander.
• Base notes: Vanilla, myrrh and dandalwood.

Nymphaea

Lux

• Top notes: Mandarin, pink pepper and pear.
• Heart notes: Water lily, lotus and geranium.
• Base notes: Cedarwood, patchouli and sandalwood.

Nox

• Top notes: Bergamot, blood orange and clove.
• Heart notes: Water lily, heliotrope and orange flower.
• Base notes: Cedarwood, sandalwood and tonka bean.

Osmanthus

Lux

• Top notes: Fig, lemon and cypress.
• Heart notes: Osmanthus, mandarin and black pepper.
• Base notes: Cedarwood, musk and honey.

Nox

• Top notes: Bergamot, cinnamon and clove.
• Heart notes: Osmanthus, rose and ylang.
• Base notes: Benzoin, patchouli and sandalwood.
