Dermalogica training scheme recognised with Princess Royal Award for 2021

Dermalogica’s commitment to staff training has been rewarded with the award of a Princess Royal Training Award 2021.

Dermalogica was the only skincare brand to receive the national award in 2021- with the accolade handed down for its ‘Clear Customer Experience Training Programme.’

Launched in April 2021, the new training programme was designed to help Dermalogica skin therapists build better partnerships between themselves and their customers - in a bid to deliver better skin results and increased loyalty.

The scheme, which is also open to Dermalogica partner salons and therapists, had already led to “incredible” commercial results for the brand, including a surge in 5-star customer reviews, Dermalogica said.

Currently in their sixth year, The Princess Royal Training Awards recognise UK organisations which have demonstrated “exceptional commitment to training and development,” which have resulted in “measurable business impact.”

Dermalogica achieved the award alongside 45 other UK organisations, including Coutts, PWC and SKY among others.

Dermalogica Education Manager Candice Gardner said: “With education and skills-based training at the heart of what we do at Dermalogica, we are immensely proud of achieving the Princess Royal Training Award standard.

“The application process is rigorous, and the award specifically recognises outstanding training where learning and development has had a measurable impact on an organisation and its people.

“This year we entered our Clear Customer Experience programme which develops customer service, communication, retail and technical skills to enable exceptional client experiences that foster human connection and drive customer loyalty.

“The Clear Customer Experience has been enthusiastically adopted, confidence has soared with every training and coaching session, and the commercial results are incredible, including countless 5-star reviews.

“And this was developed and delivered during a pandemic! Despite the pandemic we have delivered some of the best training available in customer service and retailing for skin therapist employees and business partners.”

Dermalogica was also one of five organisations to be awarded a new commendation for 2021 – the Covid Commendations for Award Alumni.

The new commendation, for exceptional training programmes in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, recognised Dermalogica Global’s Clean Touch Certification Programme.
