Dermatologist Dr Aamna Adel on launching scalp-first haircare brand Rhute
Meet Rhute, the new haircare brand from dermatologist and content creator Dr Aamna Adel that’s turning conventional hair wisdom on its head, starting at the scalp.
Launching today, Rhute makes its debut with the Density + Repair Scalp Serum (£55), a lightweight, leave-in formula powered by 16 clinically backed ingredients, including stem cell extracts, niacinamide, salicylic acid and bioactive peptides. The vegan, fragrance-free serum is designed to strengthen the scalp barrier, reduce shedding and support visibly fuller, healthier hair across all types and textures.
In an exclusive Interview with TheIndustry.beauty, Adel, who has treated scalp conditions for more than a decade and has openly shared her own hair loss journey with an online community of over four million followers, said: "Over the past three years, I’ve been building something I felt was truly missing.
"I’ve seen how emotionally charged hair changes can be, especially for women, and how little real support or credible education is out there. The demand is rising, the category is noisy, but the products and education still fall short. Rhute is my answer to that – rooted in medical science, but shaped by the real-life concerns I’ve seen patients, and experienced myself, struggle with for years."

Adel, who boasts over 650,000 Instagram followers, explained that Rhute was shaped both by her professional and personal experience. "Rhute was born from two perspectives: my work as a Consultant Dermatologist, and my own experience with hair loss. In clinic, I see more and more patients struggling with scalp and hair concerns. At the same time, I know first-hand how overwhelming and confusing the market can be. There are countless shampoos, oils and so-called ‘miracle’ products, but very little true science and even less clarity. I wanted to create intentional formulas rooted in clinical evidence that address real needs rather than adding to the noise."
Unlike many haircare products that target a single concern, the Density + Repair Serum was developed to address multiple pathways at once - from strengthening the scalp barrier to extending the growth phase and regulating oil production.
"What also sets it apart is who we tested it on," said Adel. "We deliberately included people at very different stages of their hair journey: new mums experiencing postpartum shedding, women going through menopause, men with pattern thinning, and those with traction or tension loss from extensions or braids. That way, we could be confident it works across real, diverse experiences."
Rhute is positioned at the intersection of dermatology and daily ritual, to cut through haircare’s "quick fix" culture. Clinical trials show promising results. 79% of users saw visibly fuller hair, 86% felt more hydrated scalps, 83% experienced less discomfort while brushing and nearly 80% noticed stronger, shinier strands within eight weeks.
But Adel stresses that the brand is as much about education as efficacy. "I want scalp care to feel as integrated into our daily rituals and routines as skincare," she said. "Everyone understands SPF or exfoliation for their face, yet the scalp is still treated as an afterthought, even though healthy hair always starts there. With Rhute, I want to normalise conversations about scalp needs and hair health in an open, stigma-free way. Even if someone never buys a product, if they leave our platform feeling informed, supported and more confident in caring for their hair, then we’ve achieved something meaningful."
Looking ahead, Adel says expansion will be slow and considered. "I’m not interested in launching products for the sake of it. Every formula has to earn its place in someone’s routine and address a genuine need. I want to build a streamlined system: cleansing, scalp-first treatments, and supportive essentials that work in harmony - not a cluttered, confusing line-up."
For now, Rhute is launching exclusively on rhutehair.com. Adel explained: "For me, it’s about repositioning haircare to the same standard as skincare: credible, effective and worth investing in because it supports long-term health, not just short-term shine."
With Rhute, Adel brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to a category she describes as "noisy but underserved." In an era where scalp care is emerging as the next beauty frontier, her message is clear: healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp.
