Diptyque expands limited-edition City Candles collection with new scent
Diptyque has announced the return of its limited-edition City Candles collection, welcoming Seoul as the latest destination in the range.
With a new candle added each year, the collection now features 11 locations, including Paris, London, New York, Miami, Hong Kong, Berlin, Shanghai, Tokyo, Pekin, Beverley Hills, and now Seoul.
Each fragrance channels the "olfactory and sensory evocations" of each city, celebrating its spirit and architecture. The new addition of Seoul pays homage to the South Korean city's architecture and nature, taking inspiration from its skyscrapers, temples and gardens.
Blending the musky, subtle woody notes of hibiscus with touches of incense, cedar and jasmine, the scent promises a "modernist, poetic journey that’s attuned to the rhythms of the city and of nature".
The packaging features different hues of the hibiscus flower, decorated with a "multitude of luminous panels resembling those that light up the city and its architecture at night".
Typically only sold in their respective cities, the full collection is now exclusively available at Diptyque online and in its stores worldwide until 26 April 2023, allowing the brand to share the range with its loyal customers.
The news follows the launch of Diptyque's first new fragrance since 2021, developed by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin and artist Alix Waline. It is designed to be a "flawless portrayal of paper and a way for each wearer to express their unique individuality".
