Diptyque introduces candle refills alongside redesigned vessels and new scents
Diptyque is updating its candle collection, introducing a redesigned vessel, new fragrances and a refill system aimed at extending product lifespan and reducing environmental impact.
Across four chapters, the luxury brand seeks to reaffirm its timeless appeal while continuing evolve the fragrance experience.
Chapter 1 - New design
The brand’s signature candle - recognisable by its transparent glass vessel, white wax and black-and-white oval label - has been subtly redesigned in collaboration with Franco-Swiss designer Julie Richoz.
The updated vessel retains its original identity while incorporating refined contours. A new oval ridge in the glass frames the label, adding depth and enhancing the way light interacts with the surface.
The label itself remains monochrome and oval-shaped, but now features a slightly raised texture and more defined lettering.
However, the typography continues to reference the original design by Diptyque co-founder Desmond Knox-Leet, maintaining its cryptography-inspired style while appearing more pronounced.
Chapter 2: New scents
As part of the evolution, Diptyque is also expanding the range with five new fragrances, developed by perfumers Alexandra Carlin and Olivia Giacobetti.

Amanda Morgan, Managing Director UK for Diptyque, tells TheIndustry.beauty: "Our herbarium of scents continues to play an essential key part of our fragrance design in Diptyque."
The new fragrances align with the brand's ethos of discovering scents from around the world, embracing artistic freedom, and drawing inspiration from nature, inviting consumers on an olfactory journey.
The additions are:
- Café (Coffee)
- Ortie (Nettle)
- Sésame Noir (Black Sesame)
- Rhubarbe (Rhubarb)
- Shiso
"Our Café candle comes from the freshly ground notes of coffee, a blend of roast with woody notes. Our new Ortie candle gives a vegetable watery and aromatic smell in the air. Rhubarb brings forth the classic sweet and tangy mix, a beautiful contrast," notes Morgan.
"Sésame Noir introduces a dry and spicy scent from a black sesame paste, with hints of roasted hazelnuts. Lastly our new Shiso candle, encapsulates a fresh and aromatic scent of green, with a spicy tinge."
Chapter 3 - Refills
From autumn 2026, Diptyque will then introduce refills for its classic candles, initially available in ten of its core fragrances. The system is designed to extend the life of the glass vessel and reduce waste.

The refill inserts are packaged in a protective casing made from paperfoam, a bio-based and recyclable material. The redesigned glass vessel is also approximately 10% lighter than previous versions.
According to the brand, reusing the vessel can reduce the candle’s carbon footprint by around 22%, with further reductions achieved through continued refill use.
"The upcoming refills are in-line with the brand's continued efforts to extend the life of our products in a sustainable way, which Diptyque has been exploring in different avenues already. So, the candle refills were a natural next step for our iconic candles and an invitation to a new ritual with your candle," Morgan explains.
"Craftsmanship is held in high importance in our production. Diptyque is known for its meticulous detail, an eye for design and with the new vessel, our candles feel even more elevated. It is all about the union of beauty and functionality without compromising on quality."
Chapter 4 - Decorative objects
The updated candle collection will also be accompanied by new decorative accessories designed around the theme of flame and light.
These include items made from borosilicate glass and biscuit porcelain, such as a coated candle holder, a stand, a lid topped with the Diptyque pyramid, and matchboxes."
