Luxury fragrance brand Diptyque is getting ready to open at London's Battersea Power Station later this month, with the space reflecting both its architectural evolution and the unique character of the location.

As with the recently opened Maison Diptyque London on New Bond Street, and boutiques in Covent Garden and Canary Wharf, the store invites visitors to wander through a Parisian apartment where tradition meets imagination.

Echoing the spirit of its first boutique in Paris, the open plan design encourages exploration while embodying the fragrance brand’s cultural and artisanal heritage.

It also takes inspiration from both the spirit of Battersea Power Station’s industrial heritage and its new era as a vibrant retail, leisure and cultural destination for London.

Inside, the space will feature Diptyque’s full product offering across home and fragrance, with a curated decoration collection, and exclusive services.

Amanda Morgan, Managing Director of Diptyque UK, said: "We are delighted to announce our latest boutique opening at the iconic Battersea Power Station.

"As the luxury brand’s first presence in the area, we are excited to be a part of this ever-evolving, richly historic retail and residential hub in South West London. We look forward to welcoming new and existing visitors to Diptyque’s extensive product offering, including personalisation and engraving services. "

The design

Passing floor to ceiling height open windows and a custom handmade mosaic, guests are first welcomed into a space reminiscent of a light Haussmann-style apartment.

The walls are adorned with mouldings, detailed with metallic and wrought iron accents, while large, patented steel discovery tables showcase Diptyque’s offerings.

Moving through to the Bath & Care Room, which explores Art Deco codes in a layout woven with contrasting wooden panels and frames, the space is highlighted with tones of black and deep reds with shelves by Forge Robert.

The Gifting & Service area is a continuation of these influences, with deep red patina-patterned wooden panels covering the walls for added warmth.

Finally, a central window, directly inspired by Battersea Power Station’s original control rooms, which once managed the distribution of electricity across London, joins the two spaces, showcasing the brand's candle collection.

Continuing Diptyque’s commitment to its artisanal heritage, London-based artist Gergei Erdei has also created a large artwork that adorns the fragrance wall, inspired by the brand's archives, to create an illustration combining architectural details, nature, poetry and imagination.

The boutique will join a number of beauty brands and retailers at Battersea Power Station, including Boots, Space NK, Jo Malone London, MAC Cosmetics and Penhaligon's.

Harriett Renny, Leasing Director at Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: "Beautifully designed, the new Diptyque boutique will bring Parisian chic to the Grade II* listed landmark, whilst complementing Battersea Power Station’s Art Deco design perfectly, and will be a brilliant addition to our fragrance and homeware offering."
