Dolce & Gabbana has launched its first-ever alcohol-free fragrance for dogs, supported by a playful campaign.

Inspired by Fefé, the faithful companion of Domenico Dolce and Guilherme Siqueira, the new fragrance is said to give dog’s fur a pleasant scent while respecting their skin sensitivity.

Approved by ethologists and "well received" by veterinarians and dog owners, the product's alcohol-free formula promises to respect the wellbeing of dog’s skin and eyes and control bad odours.

It has been certified according to the SAFE PET COSMETICS protocol, the only voluntary protocol that applies the same standards that regulate human-use cosmetics.

Developed by perfumer Emilie Coppermann, the fragrance features a harmonious combination of olfactory notes, including the warm and enveloping scent of Ylang Ylang, the fresh and clean touch of Musk, and the woody undertones of Sandalwood.

It is housed in a green lacquered glass bottle, decorated with a red metal cap and 24-carat gold-plated paw, attempting to "playfully and sophisticatedly tell the story of Dolce & Gabbana’s style".

The launch is complemented by a new campaign, starring Fefé and his canine friends, playfully revealing the different aspects of their personalities to discover and love, including rebellious and delicate, charismatic and sensitive, enigmatic and irresistible.

Priced at £83, the new fragrance will launch in-store and online at Harrods from 26 August, also known as International Dog Day.
