Dolce & Gabbana opens 'first-of-its-kind' beauty boutique in Covent Garden
Luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana has opened its first beauty boutique in the heart of London’s Covent Garden. Here, in the historic Market Building, the "first-of-its-kind" store will offer both beauty and accessories under one roof.
Dolce & Gabbana, the same brand that launched alcohol-free fragrances for dogs, is returning to the retail hotspot otherwise known as Covent Garden following the success of its Christmas pop-up on the Piazza back in 2022.
The space features its exclusive selection of cosmetics and signature fragrance collections, as well as a makeup consultation area. As for accessories, D&G ensures customers can pick up their favourite lippy and pair of shades all at the one-stop shop.
Fitted out with gold panelling and monochrome tiles, the décor blends the heritage charm of the Market Building with the brand's signature black and gold-infused Italian glamour.
Dolce & Gabbana took control of the development, manufacture and distribution of its fragrance and makeup products in 2022, ending its licensing deal with Shiseido Company.
Following this, the luxury Italian label has been increasing its presence here in the UK. For example, last July, Dolce & Gabbana unveiled its new beauty boutique at Harrods. In 2023, it unveiled a new "beauty corner" at its luxury boutique on Old Bond Street in London.
William Oliver, Retail Leasing Director at Shaftesbury Capital, said: "Dolce & Gabbana's commitment to blending tradition with innovation is what makes Covent Garden the perfect location to debut a world-first concept, following in the footsteps of Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury, Glossier, and Tom Ford.
"Building on the noteworthy success of its pop-up in 2022, the brand has reinvested in the destination, showcasing Covent Garden’s appeal for internationally renowned fashion houses to put down permanent roots."
D&G isn't the only beauty brand to open up shop in Covent Garden. In fact, it's one of many luxury beauty and fragrance brands at the destination, including Chanel Beauty, Diptyque, Glossier, Guerlain, Tom Ford Beauty and Charlotte Tilbury, to name a few.
