Dr.PAWPAW is on mission to do good as well as make people look good

You’ve seen Dr.PAWPAW and its paw paw-infused lip and skin care products on your local supermarket shelves, high street shops and more, but did you know they’re on a mission to do good as well as make people look good?

Australian-born Pauline Paterson co-founded Dr.PAWPAW with her husband Johnny after realising the UK didn't import pawpaw-infused skincare products. The everyday ingredient, which floods store shelves across the pond, has skin-healing properties that helped manage Pauline and Johnny's daughter's eczema.

The pawpaw fruit, which originates in North America, boasts similar skin-healing and hydrating benefits to Aloe Vera. In 2013, the couple decided to make their own pawpaw balm, which has evolved over the past decade. Now, the brand is on its way to becoming a household name with a full range of affordable skin and hair care products. It's available at Anthropologie, Sainsbury's and more.

Dr.PAWPAW is now on a mission to make a difference: Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good. The Bromley-based beauty brand has successfully raised over £11,500 for the Teenage Cancer Trust, exceeding its target of £10,000, by participating in the Thames Path Ultra Challenge on 14 September.

The Thames Path Ultra Challenge began at Putney Bridge, taking participants through picturesque spots like Richmond, Hampton, and Runnymede, with the full course stretching to Henley. The Dr.PAWPAW team of 10 took on three different distances: 100km, 50km, and 25km.

Johnny and Pauline Paterson told TheIndustry.fashion: "We’ve never been prouder of the team. Their energy was incredible, and everyone finished strong in so many ways. This was by far the toughest challenge we’ve faced, both mentally and physically.

"Despite the sunny start and stunning Thames views, we ended up navigating pitch-black trails with just head torches, uneven paths, gravel, and wet grass. But the most important part? Look at what we achieved. We raised over £11,500 for Teenage Cancer Trust, and that will be life-changing for someone. For us, that makes it all worth it. Thank you to everyone!"

One Dr.PAWPAW team member finished the 25 km journey, eight conquered the 50km course and one brave participant completed 100km. To support the cause, donations can be made through here.
