The Edinburgh Natural Skincare Co. has partnered with export management solutions specialists Commercial Cross to help UK brands enter the Chinese business-to-consumer market via the TMall-Global platform.

Last year, Commercial Cross launched its ‘Expanding E-commerce to China' service in the UK. As part of this, the company helped Edinburgh Natural Skincare Co. to open a Chinese TMall-Global flagship store without the use of a distributor.

The Edinburgh Natural Skincare Co. and Commercial Cross have now come together to help make exporting to China a "simple and routine process for all UK brands, simplifying what can be a hugely complex process".

The partnership's goal is to introduce additional UK brands to Chinese consumers, offering their "wealth of experience" with  retail brands to guide businesses on their export journey.

Both companies have said they're "dedicated to sharing with Chinese consumers why UK products are truly exceptional, high-quality and culturally unique", with the aim of building up the commercial success for a diverse range of UK brands in China.

Founded by former The Fall guitarist Tommy Crooks, the Edinburgh Natural Skincare Co. creates a range of 100% natural skincare products for all skin types. The brand sells worldwide, with partnerships in Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, Taiwan, South Korea and China.

Commenting on the partnership, Tommy Crooks said: "As a business who experienced a relatively frictionless onboarding process to the TMall Global platform, we are very well placed to help others reach this market and turn their export ambitions into reality.

"We are very excited at the thought of helping enable UK retail brands to enter the Chinese market, exposing them to around 500 million active users of TMall Global in China. The reaction to our brand in China has been highly positive and sales have exceeded our expectations and continue on an upward curve.”
