Editors' Picks: New launches from Dr. Barbara Sturm, Balmain, Melyon and more...
From Dr. Barbara Sturm's new anti-ageing serum to Leighton Denny's latest nail collection, and more, here are the top beauty launch picks of the week from TheIndustry.beauty team.

Super Anti-Ageing Dual Serum, Dr. Barbara Sturm
Before we get into why I’m a fan of Dr. Barbara Sturm’s new and improved Super Anti-Ageing Dual Serum, it’s important to note that I’m 27. But, it’s true what they say about your collegian production slowing down at 25, and after interviewing Dr. Sturm earlier this year, I knew I was in safe hands.
Barbara Sturm, an expert in molecular cosmetics and anti-ageing, told me: "My nine-year-old Pepper uses the Super Anti-Ageing Serum and I'm cool with it because it's anti-inflammatory – rather than harming the skin, it does the opposite. I don't mind if my kid already gets telomerase activation and I don't mind if my kid already gets intense hydration. Calming the skin is great whether you’re a nine-year-old kid or a 75-year-old grandma."
Last week I got my hands on the new and improved dual-phase serum, launching on Thursday. As a generation that's obsessed with anti-ageing, Sturm has potentially answered our prayers with this new serum (£340) that combines antioxidant and hydration-rich ingredients with skin-identical ceramides, fatty acids and peptides for visible age reversal results.
In phase one, the hyaluronic acid-based serum delivers intensive hydration, supports the skin against oxidative stress, and helps delay cell senescence. In phase two, the new addition, a lipidic, oil-soluble serum renews the skin barrier and boosts the skin’s natural collagen and elastin reservoir. The two formulations blend to deliver skin that looks and feels firmer, smoother and fresher—all with the added promise that fine lines and wrinkles will be visibly reduced.

Éternels de Balmain, Balmain
Balmain has excitingly launched a new fragrance collection, marking its first beauty creation since entering a licensing agreement with The Estée Lauder Companies two years ago.
Inspired by creative director Olivier Rousteing’s modern influence on fashion, and now beauty, Les Éternels de Balmain builds upon the brand's signature French heritage and "shares his new vision of avant-garde beauty". In fact, Rousteing has been the lead architect in every aspect of creation, from concept and scent development to package design and campaign imagery.
The inaugural collection includes eight multi-layered scents from four distinctive olfactive families – musk, amber, floral, and woody. Four of Balmain's legacy scents have also been "reinvented for the modern era" as part of the new collection.
From notes of rose, amber and jasmine to cedarwood, myrrh oil and patchouli, the new fragrance range looks as good as it sounds too. Housed in metallic and jewel-toned bottles, the modern design pays tribute to the house’s first-ever bottle from 1946. I certainly wouldn't mind this sitting on my dressing table!

Odyssée D'alfrique Body Wash, Melyon
Model turned luxury skincare founder Roger Dupé enters the bodycare market with the latest launch from his range of skincare that addresses the concerns (but is not exclusive to) darker skin tones. Melyon draws inspiration from West Africa and infuses the Scandinavian aesthetic to bring its fans (rather beautifully packaged) products made with ethical ingredients to cleanse and treat the skin.
The Odyssée D'alfrique Body Wash is packed with actives including aloe vera, willow bark extract and sodium PCA to nourish, cleanse, and leave your skin feeling smooth and balanced, while its scent of blackcurrant, vetiver and iris makes it a treat to use. It's suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and dry skin.
Priced at £23 for 400ml, the new body wash is available online at Melyon.

Leighton Denny Angel Collection
Leighton Denny first launched his Angel Dust polish back in 2005 (it's hard to believe he's been innovating in this space for so long, but he has!) and he's just launched a most welcome update to the franchise.
The original Angel Dust is a clear, sheer polish infused with "millions" of shimmering, silver sparkles reminiscent of angelic stardust. To complement it, the master of manicures has added Angel Blush, a soft, satin-metallic pink, and Angel Pearl a soft, satin-metallic white.
Typically I use only three colours of nail varnish: bright red, dark red or a neutral. These, though, I love as they elevate the neutral category for me and bring a bit of joy to my nails without clashing with my clothes (I wear a strict wardrobe palette of black, grey, blue, beige and khaki and I can't bear to have nails that jar - it's boring of me I know).
These are also excellent value at £12.50 each and are available now online at Leighton Denny.
