From Simon Ourian MD's lip treatment to Loving Tan's express tanning lotion, and more, here are the top beauty launch picks of the week from TheIndustry.beauty team.

Simon Ourian

Hollywood Tripeptide Lip Treatment, Simon Ourian MD

Skincare ranges created by leading aestheticians have become something of an obsession of late. And aesthetician to the stars, Dr Simon Ourian's range is, in my view, one of the best. His collection has been created to enhance the performance of his aesthetic treatments and can also provide a boost to those of us who are a little more needle shy.

I've often felt my lips could do with a bit of filler but I've never been brave enough. If I were to go under the needle, I'd want Simon Ourian to do it, and since he is based in Beverley Hills, that is not going to happen (besides he has his hands full with the likes of Lady Gaga and the Kardashians). I shall therefore have to content myself with his new Hollywood Tripeptide Lip Treatment. Not only does this super-product provide instant plumping but it also improves the condition of your lips with continued use. And I intend to use it on a continued basis. Perhaps for the rest of my life.

The treatment harnesses the power of advanced peptides, hyaluronic acid, and a unique blend of essential fatty acids, ceramides, and botanical boosters. All of this conspires to plump, smooth, soothe, hydrate and protect the lips. It can be used over lipstick, on its own during the day, or applied in a thick layer as an overnight mask.

"This lip treatment is a must-have for anyone experiencing dryness, chapping, or loss of volume. It’s also ideal for enhancing results from lip fillers or lip blush, delivering intensive hydration with a gentle touch suitable for all skin types," says Dr Simon himself.

Lip blushing... maybe I will try that? Or maybe now this exists, I don't have to. Priced at £35, the Hollywood Tripeptide Lip Treatment is available now at Simon Ourian MD.

Byoma

Phyto Mucin Glow Serum, Byoma

Since its launch in 2022, Byoma has continued to capture consumer attention for its barrier-boosting formulations and unique packaging, with products often in high demand and reaching viral status on social media. As a fan of the brand myself, I can completely understand its appeal. So, when I was invited to preview its latest launch earlier this week, I was excited to find out more...

Founder Marc Elrick describes this new innovation as "one of the most clinically efficacious and revolutionary serums ever developed". Why is it so special? It features a vegan alternative to snail mucin, designed to rival the popular ingredient's efficacy to "deeply hydrate, even skin tone, and improve texture".

The star ingredient, phytomucin, is a bio-based alternative derived from Japanese roots and plants that are polysaccharide-rich to reduce water loss and strengthen skin barrier function. Other ingredients include a tri-ceramide complex to repair the skin barrier and restore natural moisture levels, plant-based biopeptide to repair skin damage, and panthenol to calm redness, irritation and sensitivity. It also boasts three molecular weights of hyaluronic acid.

The result? A lightweight, non-sticky formula that absorbs quickly and enhances elasticity for "glowing, plump, and radiant skin".

Priced at £14.99, the new Phyto Mucin Glow Serum is now available online at Boots, with plans to launch at Cult Beauty, Sephora UK, Selfridges and Amazon from 2 February.

Youth Renewal Serum, Dr Rasha

Dr. Rasha is one of the UK's most sought-after and highly experienced cosmetic doctors. So it was no surprise when I received the first product from her debut skincare line on my desk - Youth Renew Serum, a "powerhouse" product combining years of clinical expertise with cutting-edge skincare science.

The serum works on the deeper layers of the skin to deliver aesthetic-inspired results. Designed for use both morning and night, the serum uses next-generation bio-retinoid and pigment-fading actives to deliver fast-working, rejuvenating action. With a cashmere-soft texture, it targets pigmentation and reduces lines and wrinkles, leaving skin feeling deeply hydrated, appearing brighter, smoother, and firmer.

"I’m beyond excited to unveil my first-ever serum - a game-changing at-home solution that pushes the boundaries of anti-aging skincare. This powerful formula is designed to quickly fight the visible signs of aging caused by the environmental stress our skin faces every single day," says Dr Rasha.

I'm two weeks in, and I have to say, my skin feels rather wonderful. Priced at £160, the Youth Renewal Serum is available online at Dr Rasha.

2 HR Express Tanning Lotion, Loving Tan

As TheIndustry.beauty's self-tan aficionado, I'm back again with a product recommendation that'll keep your skin hydrated and bronzed throughout the winter months.

Loving Tan, the Australian brand renowned for its rapidly developing 2 HR Express Mousse, is aiming to "revolutionise" the self-tan market with its new express face and body tanning serums. For years I've depended on Loving Tan for those weeks I want to be extra glowy and tanned. So, I was brave enough to give the new formula, a hydrating twist on Loving Tan’s bestselling 2 HR Express Mousse, a go before I needed to be bikini-ready. I am pleased to say, there were no streaks in sight. Phew.

The 2 HR Express Tanning Lotion (£32) is enriched with shea butter to hydrate, coffee extract to improve skin texture, and açai extract to help protect the skin from environmental stressors. During product trials, 95% of participants said that the tanning lotion saw an increase in skin hydration immediately after the very first application. Plus, 91% said they looked radiant and bronzed after use and 86% said the lotion was fast absorbing and fast drying. I can confirm that applying it felt like quenching my skin in some much-needed hydration - perfect for this time of year.

It is available online in shades medium and dark, unlike the mousse which comes in ultra-dark (my personal favourite). Fingers crossed they have plans to expand the shade range!

Alpha-H

Liquid Gold + Vitamin C, Alpha-H

I recently introduced Alpha-H's Liquid Gold into my skincare routine for a bit of much-needed exfoliation. Having enjoyed using the product so far, I was very interested to find out the Australian skincare brand has now updated the bestselling formula, adding the brightening benefits of vitamin C.

Launching 25 years after the product's debut in 2000, the new treatment introduces vitamin C to its existing glycolic acid base, further amplified by a "cutting-edge" low-pH delivery system that "supports the stability of both ingredients in this formula".

As part of this, the new Liquid Gold promises to "redefine radiant skin", removing dead skin cells for optimal vitamin C absorption and visibly improved tone, texture, and brightness.

I found it particularly interesting that the product has relaunched to align with evolving consumer preferences for multitasking, high-performance skincare. That certainly was the appeal for me when I first heard about its launch, and I imagine it will be the same for both fans of the brand and new customers alike.

Symprove

One-week pack, Symprove

Good gut health can help with all manner of skincare issues. An unhealthy gut can release pro-inflammatory cytokines that cause inflammation throughout the body. Chronic inflammation is a common factor in many skin conditions, such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. An unhealthy gut can also negatively impact the skin's protective barrier.

Symprove, the UK’s number one water-based live and active bacteria supplement, has expanded into retail stores under a strategic partnership with Sainsbury’s. I for one am super happy about this, as I've been taking Symprove for over three months and I don't think I'll stop anytime soon - so having it on the shelves of my local supermarket is a win!

Consumers can now purchase a one-week pack, making it easier to try Symprove for the first time as well as for shorter use cases (e.g. alongside an antibiotic prescription). Priced at £23.00 and available at Sainsbury’s.
