Cherry Stem Eau de Parfum, Phlur

Gourmand fragrances are officially a thing at the moment. But they have been a thing for me since the 90s when Thierry Mugler launched the ground-breaking Angel. How I was obsessed with it! It sparked a decades-long obsession with finding foodie fragrances that were just the right side of sweet (which is to say not too sickly).

This summer I finally purchased a body spray from Phlur in Vanilla Skin and it is no exaggeration to say I have worn it every day since as a layering base for all my other fragrances. Now I can layer it under the cult fragrance brand's new launch, Cherry Stem. This is a cocktail of juicy black cherry, sugared jasmine and plum, cut through with hints of leather and spiked citrus. These combine to add warmth and sophistication and ensure this fragrance is anything but sickly sweet. With my Vanilla Skin undertones, it is a divine combination.

Phlur was recently acquired by private equity firm TSG Partners, which expects it to generate $150 million in retail sales this year. A fair few of those will come from me.
