Vast Lash in Cocoa & Posh Balm in Soleil, Victoria Beckham Beauty

I'm a total sucker for a summer make-up collection. It's about now, as we reach peak season, that I shift away from berries and pinks to corals and golds until early September. This palette works better with my summer wardrobe and sunkissed skin, and a little bit of shimmer is always the perfect complement to a ray of sunshine.

Victoria Beckham Beauty has just unveiled two welcome additions to its line-up to take us through high summer days and nights with style. First off, the Vast Lash mascara is now available in Cocoa, a gorgeous matte brown shade that pairs perfectly with the top-selling shade of the brand's signature Satin Kajal Liner. This volumising mascara is good for 12 hours and will withstand heat and humidity. Also, it's brown! Regular readers know I can't do black mascara at the best of times, and I certainly can't do it when it's 35 degrees in the shade. Not all brands do brown, but more and more do now, so it can't be just me asking for it.

I also can't do a heavy lip in the summer (or ever, truth be told) and the Posh Balm in this sparkly Soleil shade is perfect. It delivers a sheer, golden shimmer and nourishes your lips for 24 hours after application. The bullet is also slimline, which is a bonus, as it's easy to slip into the smallest of handbags for touch-ups on the go.

Brow Harmony Tinted Flexible Lifting Gel, Rare Beauty

With an early alarm, who has the time or energy for a full face of makeup in the mornings? Not me. The hero products in my routine are tinted SPF (what an investment this is), rose-hued drops, mascara and a trusty brow gel. At the moment, I’m using and loving one by Benefit. However, Rare Beauty’s will be next in line once I’ve finished the one already in my routine.

Marine Collagen, Rheal 

I have been somewhat obsessed with collagen for the last few years, so apologies if this gets a bit nerdy.

While collagen is something the body naturally produces, it actually peaks in the early-to-mid 20s, and then it starts declining gradually, around 1% per year starting at 25-30. Once perimenopause and menopause hit for women, you can see a much more rapid decline, driven by falling oestrogen levels.

, for one, would rather defy this normal ageing process, and I'm not alone. We're seeing a much larger trend around ingestible beauty today and the idea of prevention and longevity. For myself, collagen supplements are one of the easiest and most accessible ways to ensure that my skin, nails and hair stay strong and healthy for longer.

The thing is, I don't eat meat, and a lot of the normal collagen is made from bovine bits. Then I found that there is a marine collagen alternative, and I've been taking this ever since.

Now Rheal, the British wellness brand founded in 2017 by Charlotte Ali and Sean Ali, is bringing out its own collagen supplements, and I'm very keen to try it.

For Charlotte Ali, launching Rheal emerged following her personal health journey, which included persistent fatigue, low immunity and complications related to coeliac disease - an autoimmune condition in which gluten damages the small intestine. These experiences led the pair to explore superfood-led approaches to nutrition and overall wellbeing - and ultimately launch Rheal.

The brand has been steadily expanding its categories ever since launching, and, true to its roots, its collagen supplements are formulated around real, functional ingredients.

The supplements - both Marine Collagen and Collagen Peptides (made of bovine) - contain 10,000 mg of hydrolysed collagen peptides per serving, alongside added vitamin C to support the body's natural collagen production.

That means the collagen is broken down into smaller fragments that are more easily absorbed by the body, while the vitamin C is required to kick-start collagen production. It's therefore very good to see it already being part of the supplement.

Also good to see that the supplements are unflavoured. I always mix my collagen with my electrolytes in a glass of water, and if all the supplements are flavoured, the taste can get confusing very quickly.

Moringa Lip Salves, S'able Lab

I am always drawn to lip products that sit somewhere between skincare and lipstick, and this launch from S'able Lab does exactly that. The new Moringa Lip Salves come in two buildable shades - a soft nude pink and a blue-red - which feel very wearable rather than overly bold.

What stood out to me is how easy they are to layer. You can keep it sheer for everyday wear or build it up into something more defined without it feeling heavy or overly made up. The skincare-first texture means it stays comfortable rather than drying out your lips over the course of the day.

It’s the kind of product you can throw on without thinking but still look put together - perfect for the office or for pub trips during the World Cup!
