From Sol de Janeiro's body oil to Morphe's bacteria-killing makeup brushes, and more, here are the top beauty launch picks of the week from TheIndustry.beauty team.

Sensitive Scalp, Batiste

I think it’s safe to say that Batiste is one of the first brands we think of when dry shampoo comes to mind. It has been around longer than me.

This week, the OG brand launched its latest innovation in dry shampoo technology – a sensitive scalp formulation. Recently, like so many other consumers, I’ve become vigilant over what I use on my skin and my scalp. Noticing growing awareness, Batiste launched its Sensitive Scalp gentle dry shampoos. The first is lightly scented and the second is fragrance-free. They both retail at £3.59 for 200ml and £3.75 for 280ml.

Dermatologically tested and specifically formulated for sensitive scalps, the duo provides gentle yet effective solutions for achieving fresh-feeling hair - perfect for days when I'm running late and don't have time for an 'everything shower'. Plus, Batiste has officially been accredited by the Skin Health Alliance (SHA), which serves as a trusted beacon for consumers. So, it's official: maintaining scalp health has officially become one step easier.

Wellness patches, The What Supp Co.

A new wellness brand founded by former British Vogue beauty editor Kelly Gilbert has launched, reflecting a new innovation in the supplement category that unites wearable self-care with technology to support your mood.

Priding itself on quality formulas that don’t just work for you, but with you, these peel-off patches are made from four layers that include a protective waterproof barrier to ensure all the ingredients are protected and delivered safely into the bloodstream over 10-12 hours through a hypoallergenic adhesive patch.

Launching with three distinct product categories of wellness: Chill, Enegry and Recovery - each patch contains a proprietary blend of active ingredients, curated to maximise efficacy and absorption. They are also completed with aromatherapy, an addition that is only made possible due to the intricate matrix structure of the patch.

Priced at £18 each, the new wellness patches are available at The What Supp Co.

Sol De Janeiro

Beija Flor Elasti-Body Oil, Sol de Janeiro

You had me at Sol de Janeiro but then you added Elasti-Body into the mix and frankly I am now obsessed. Who doesn't love Sol de Janeiro and who doesn't want an Elasti-Body? I mean I'm not sure what the latter is TBH, but I want it. And I definitely want to boost my skin's "bounce", which is what this lightweight body oil, infused with the divine Cheirosa 68 scent, promises to do.

Sol de Janeiro has been pretty active on the NPD front lately and I don't blame them; they should capitalise on the brand obsession and hook their already highly engaged consumer base (and some new fans) however they can.

This latest launch is a particularly good one to kick off the new year, bringing some of the efficacy of facial skincare to the body, just when we're all focused on sloughing off the dead cells of last year. The hero ingredient here is cacay oil, which is described as a natural alternative to retinol that mimics its age-defying properties. This has been teamed up with squalane for its moisturising and plumping properties and amaranthus flower extract for additional moisture and to help reduce the signs of body wrinkles.

It can be applied morning and night and you can pair it with the complementary body wash, deodorant and fragrance if you want to max out on the scent (I would!), which is based around Brazilian jasmine and pink dragonfruit.

Price at £52, this is available exclusively at Selfridges until 3 February, after which is launches nationwide.

Brushes Reimagined, Morphe

I have dreamt of the day that bacteria-killing makeup brushes became a thing and Morphe has finally answered my prayers with its new collection of brushes.

The Morphe Brushes Reimagined is a capsule brush wardrobe made up of 34 pieces that represent "the pinnacle of innovation and expertise in makeup application". Each brush is crafted with silver ion-infused vegan bristles, known to have antibacterial properties.

So what exactly are silver ions? They are naturally derived particles known to break through bacterial cell walls, inhibiting bacteria’s ability to survive and thrive. Morphe’s silver ion-infused bristles can reduce harmful bacteria by 99.9%. So long are the days of dirty makeup brushes causing acne. The only downside is that silver ions typically remain effective for up to a year under normal use.

Morphe Brushes Reimagined is now available online at Morphe and Selfridges, with prices starting at £8.

Wild

Renew, Calm and Energise, Wild

Plastic-free personal care brand Wild has partnered with mental health charity Mind to launch three exclusive scents designed to inspire tranquility, positivity and renewal.

Boasting essential oils that reflect the feelings they are named after, each scent is available in the brand's signature natural deodorant, with the uplifting energising scent also available in its body wash. This scent is crafted with essential oils of grapefruit and mandarin, known for their invigorating properties, as well as violet and earthy amber.

Meanwhile, renew is described as a revitalising scent made with essential oils of ginger and lemon, known for their refreshing properties, alongside additional notes of ylang ylang and earthy patchouli. Plus, calm is made with essential oils of lavender and geranium, known to help relaxation, and additional notes of patchouli and sandalwood to bring a sense of calm throughout the day.
