Estée Lauder suspends operations in Russia

Beauty conglomerate Estée Lauder, which owns brands including Clinique, Aveda and Mac, has announced that it is suspending all operations in Russia.

The company confirmed that it will close all its stores and suspend brand sites as well as shipments to its retailers in Russia. As of Tuesday morning the local Russian Estée Lauder website was still up and running, and orders could be processed.

The company highlighted that its local employees will continue to be paid and that its foundation has pledged £763,000 in donations to relief efforts in the Ukraine and will donate products to refugees.
