The UK retail landscape, in a broad sense, is challenged but for beauty brands there is cause for optimism and opportunity for growth. In September 2024 UK e-commerce recorded its first increase in sales (+3.2% year-on-year according to IMRG) since April 2021. Meanwhile on the high street major names from Sephora to Superdrug are continuing to invest in bricks and mortar retail as consumers flock to stores.

Add to this the largely untapped opportunity of newer retail channels, such as social shopping, marketplaces and live shopping and further growth potential presents itself.
