From Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty to Hailey Bieber’s Rhode, celebrity beauty brands are thriving. Now joining the line-up is Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, with her debut haircare line called Cécred.

Launching with eight products, Cécred builds upon Knowles-Carter's vision to "create a new standard in haircare that breaks down myths and helps to change the narrative in haircare".

Inspired by hair rituals from global cultures, the product line-up features a Clarifying Shampoo, Scalp Scrub, Moisture Sealing Lotion, Nourishing Hair Oil and Reconstructing Treatment Mask.

Ingredients include an array of butters and oils, as well as a patent-pending technology made from wool-derived keratin, honey, and lactobacillus ferment to repair and strengthen hair.

"The journey of creating Cécred has taken years, and I'm so proud to finally reveal what we've been working on," said Knowles-Carter.

"As a Black founder, it was important to me to concentrate on where I saw the greatest need for healthy haircare and to place scientific innovation and product performance above all else. We started by prioritising the needs of textured hair like mine, along with other types and textures that need more moisture and strength.

"My entire life, I've worn my hair in so many different ways: natural, flat-ironed, braids, coloured, weaves, wigs. I want everyone to have the freedom to express their hair in ways that make them feel good, so I began by creating the essentials for hair and scalp health."

The Grammy award-winning artist also took inspiration from her mother Tina Knowles, who often mixed tech-forward formulas with natural butters and oils to cultivate healthy hair in her salon.

Knowles now joins Cécred as Vice Chairwoman, bringing her 40 years of influence as a hairstylist, salon owner and entrepreneur to the brand.

"In my own experience serving clients, I loved witnessing the joy they felt watching their hair grow healthier, shinier, and more vibrant," said Knowles. "I have personally witnessed how these products have stopped breakage in its tracks. I've seen the transformations from using these products on all different hair types and textures and the results have been amazing."

The launch comes just after the American singer-songwriter became the first black woman to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart after her new single Texas Hold ‘Em debuted at number one on Tuesday.

The mother-of-three also released another single 16 Carriages at the same time, also from her upcoming eighth studio album.

Priced between £25 and £42, Cécred is available via its own website.
