Ex-Dermalogica exec joins Skin Rocks Pro as Head of Business Development
Skin Rocks, the skincare brand founded by Caroline Hirons, has appointed Michelle Hindmarch as Head of Business Development for its professional arm, Skin Rocks Pro.
Hindmarch, who brings nearly three decades of experience, will be responsible for building Skin Rocks Pro’s presence across the UK and Ireland through strategic partnerships with clinics, salons and spas.
A former therapist, Hindmarch's career has taken her from "treatment room to senior leadership". She has held senior leadership roles across retail, ecommerce and travel retail, most recently heading new business at Dermalogica UK. Her career spans working with leading brands including Elemis, Clarins, Guinot, Cowshed and Crystal Clear, giving her first-hand insight into both treatment delivery and commercial operations.
Hindmarch said: "Skin Rocks has already built unrivalled trust and authority with consumers, and now we’re bringing that same credibility into the professional channel. My ambition is for Skin Rocks Pro to become the professional partner of choice - not just through product, but by delivering the kind of education and business support that makes a measurable difference."
Launched in 2022, Skin Rocks has disrupted the UK beauty market with its evidence-led positioning, underpinned by Hirons’ reputation as one of the industry’s most trusted skincare authorities. The creation of Skin Rocks Pro is designed to translate that consumer credibility into the professional space, an area Hirons has long championed as under-recognised.
The move places Skin Rocks Pro into direct competition with long-established players such as Dermalogica, Guinot and Elemis - brands that have built strong professional networks over decades by combining treatment innovation with therapist education.
Just last week, Dermalogica announced the launch of its new PRO Community hub - a digital space designed by skin therapists, for skin therapists. The platform, which officially goes live this month, is set to become the UK’s largest professional skincare network, connecting therapists across the UK and Ireland. With this level of innovation from the category leader, the question now is: is Skin Rocks Pro ready to go head-to-head with some of the most established names in the professional skincare arena? With this appointment, it very well might be.
