Digital native skincare brand Facetheory has appointed Marc Gallagher, former Chief Brand and Digital Officer at Elemis, as its first-ever Chief Marketing Officer.

Based in London, Gallagher will oversee all global marketing, D2C sales and new product development, with the aim to scale the brand's global footprint.

Marc Gallagher has over 25 years of industry experience in the luxury and beauty sector, with his most recent role as Chief Brand and Digital Officer at Elemis. There, he doubled the brand's revenues in two years through a successful digital pivot during the pandemic.

Prior to working at Elemis, Gallagher held roles at John Varvatos, LVMH, Benefit Cosmetics, Marc Jacobs, Fresh and more.

Marc Gallagher,  CMO at Facetheory, commented: "Skincare is a highly competitive category, but once in a while you see a brand that just cuts through. Facetheory’s effective formulations, loyal customer community, social media presence, accessible price point and commitment to clean and vegan practices makes it poised for phenomenal growth. I’m excited to be part of Jamie’s team to take Facetheory to the next level."

Jamie Shuker, Founder and CEO of Facetheory, added: "We are thrilled to welcome Marc into the executive leadership team and onto the Board. This is a crucial moment in Facetheory’s history as we are chasing aggressive growth through an omnichannel approach, moving away from our roots as just a digital native brand. With the appointment of Marc, we are confident we have all the right experience on board to help Facetheory thrive."

Founded in Sheffield in 2014 by Jamie Shuker, Facetheory is on a mission to provide consumers with effective skincare products at an accessible price point. Since its launch, the brand has significantly grown and was ranked among the most searched Indie skincare brands in 2022 in the UK.
