Founder Nate Bigger steps away from Monpure
Nate Bigger, founder and CEO of British scalp and haircare brand Monpure, has confirmed his departure from the business he launched in 2018.
In a statement shared on LinkedIn, Bigger reflected on his seven-year tenure, describing it as "intense, formative and unforgettable".
He founded Monpure as a sole founder with the ambition of addressing gaps he saw in the haircare market - particularly around scalp health, prevention-led care and female hair loss.
The brand positions itself as a science-led brand focused on creating optimal conditions for hair growth, with formulations featuring active ingredients such as retinol, vegan silk peptides, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C and coenzyme Q10.

"I founded Monpure as a sole founder, starting completely alone, with a conviction, a blank page, and a belief that the haircare industry could do better. But Monpure was never just about haircare. At the time, scalp health was barely a category. Female hair loss was largely ignored. Prevention wasn’t commercial. I decided to change that," said Bigger.
Under his leadership, Monpure grew into a globally distributed brand, retailing through department stores, luxury pharmacies, wellness destinations and five-star resorts.
Reflecting on the realities of building the company, he wrote candidly about the personal demands of entrepreneurship, noting years of working without breaks or a safety net.
"Like most founders, I worked every single weekend for years. There were no real holidays, no off switches, and no safety net. Building something from nothing, and largely alone in the early years, teaches resilience and responsibility like nothing else. It was relentless. It was exhausting. And I don’t regret a second of it," he continued.
"To all founders who grind quietly for years and carry responsibility that never really switches off, I see you. This path is not easy.
"As I step forward, the themes that mattered to me then still matter deeply now: science-led innovation, prevention over cure, and global luxury with local relevance.
"Monpure will always be part of my DNA," he concluded, describing the brand as his first major builder chapter.
"Here’s to the work behind the scenes, the lessons earned the hard way, and to the exciting times ahead."
