Hairstory announces growth equity investment to develop brand
Hairstory has received a minority investment from global growth equity investor Summit Partners, to accelerate the growth of its sustainable, detergent-free haircare products.
The partnership will allow Hairstory to invest in sustainable formulations and packaging, expand its hairdresser community and spread its message that "shampoo is the enemy of good hair".

Hairstory was founded in 2015 and is dedicated to helping people rethink everything about hair. The brand believes that cleansing without shampoo is healthier for hair and also better for the environment.
The brand's core product, New Wash, cleans hair without any detergent, ending what the company sees as a vicious cycle of over-cleansing created by shampoo.
Hairstory products are manufactured in recyclable, refill pouches. The brand's subscription platform, the Refill Club, enables customers to consume nearly 90% less plastic. Along with producing over 80% less CO2 emissions during cleansing, compared to traditional haircare products.
