Clare Horner, Beauty Director at Harvey Nichols, has confirmed her departure from the British department store after four and a half years in the role.

Horner joined Harvey Nichols in January 2021, bringing experience from across the beauty and retail industries.

Prior to this, she served as Managing Director at beauty box subscription service Latest in Beauty.

Her career also includes senior positions at Kenneth Green Associates, where she held roles as Sales Director and Group Marketing Manager, as well as earlier buying roles at Harrods and British Airways.

In a post on LinkedIn, Horner said: "After an incredible 4.5 years with Harvey Nichols, the time has come to move on. It’s hard to put into words the pride, passion and joy I’ve felt leading the beauty category within such an iconic business.

"I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the most inspiring brands and partners in the industry, building relationships rooted in collaboration, creativity and shared success.

"To my brilliant colleagues, thank you for the energy, drive and support. I leave with huge respect for what we’ve achieved together and a sadness to go, but I know it’s the right time to take on a new opportunity."

The news comes as Harvey Nichols seeks to reclaim its former glory with plans to "transform" the business through a renewed focus on fashion, beauty, and hospitality.

Management recently proposed a restructuring that could involve discontinuing several "non-core" areas of the business, including the potential shutdown of its own-brand food products, hampers, corporate food services, and its online food marketplace.

It forms part of a three-year transformation plan focused on restoring the retailer's status as a "British icon", with the goal of reaffirming its place at the forefront of luxury retail.
