Henkel, owner of Schwarzkopf, has released its financial results for the third quarter of 2022, revealing a 11.3% increase in organic sales to £5.8 billion (€6 billion).

This growth was largely driven by double-digit price developments in all business units and across all regions, according to the company.

The beauty care division reported organic sales growth of 0.9%, with both the professional and consumer business areas contributing to this performance.

In consumer business, the hair cosmetics and hair care categories recorded "strong" sales growth. However, sales in the body care category were down year-on-year, due to portfolio optimisation measures.

Organic sales in the laundry/home care and adhesive technologies divisions increased 7.3% and 16.8%, respectively.

Henkel's sales increased organically in all regions in the third quarter.

Looking ahead to FY22, Henkel now expects organic sales growth of 7% to 8%, compared to its previous guidance of 5.5% to 7.5%. For the beauty care division, the group also expects organic sales of -1.0% to 0%, compared to -3.0% to -1.0% previously.

Carsten Knobel, CEO of Henkel, said: “In a market environment that remains extraordinarily challenging, we continued to drive our strategy execution and achieved clear double-digit sales growth.

"It is particularly gratifying that all business units and regions contributed to this strong business performance, which was driven, in particular, by the clear double-digit increase in sales achieved by the adhesive technologies business unit in the third quarter."
