Historic Italian pharmacy unveils new luxury concession at Harrods
Florence-based Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, widely recognised as the world’s oldest pharmacy, has launched a new retail space at luxury London department store Harrods.
The concession is designed to provide a sensory experience that reflects the brand’s Florentine heritage and artisanal craftsmanship.

It offers visitors a selection of the pharmacy’s products, including historic preparations such as Acqua di Rose and Acqua della Regina - created in 1533 for Catherine de’ Medici - alongside contemporary offerings.
Ludivine Pont, recently appointed CEO of Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, described Harrods as "the perfect setting to experience our vision of timeless care, where the beauty of tradition lives in the present".

She added: "Harrods embodies the harmony between past and future. This opening reaffirms Officina Profumo- Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’s mission to share Florentine craftsmanship with the world, in a continuous dialogue between heritage and modernity."
Founded in 1221, Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella has a long history of serving a diverse clientele, including European royalty and aristocracy.
The Harrods concession joins the brand’s existing UK locations in Burlington Gardens, Piccadilly, and Walton Street. Globally, Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella operates in over 30 countries with more than 400 points of sale.
