Holland & Barrett names former Starbucks exec as CFO
Holland & Barrett has appointed Nick Allen as its new Chief Finance Officer, replacing Robbie Bell who held the role from July 2020.
Allen joins Holland & Barrett from Starbucks EMEA, where he served as Vice President and Chief Finance Officer since 2019. In this role, he was accountable for developing the company's strategy and transforming the region's financial performance to "significant profit growth", amongst other responsibilities.
Prior to this, he held the position of CFO at Vision Express from 2018 to 2019. He was also Head of Finance for Marks & Spencer’s international business from 2008 to 2012.
Nick Allen, newly appointed Chief Finance Officer at Holland & Barrett, said: "I am very excited to join the Holland & Barrett team at this pivotal time for the business.
"There is such a huge opportunity for the business to grow as a leading omni-channel health and wellness retailer in the UK and internationally."
The news follows the recent appointment of Alex Gourlay as Executive Chair of Holland & Barrett. In this role, Gourlay is helping the business "realise its potential to grow and support customers to make health and wellness a way of life for everyone at a time when health is so vitally important".
Earlier this month, Holland & Barrett launched a 9% pay increase for its store staff, making the company "one of the highest-paying retailers on the high-street".
